Hey Folks, thanx for helping me on that ShutDOwn issue,It worked, that site www.windows-help.net (http://www.windows-help.net) was very useful.
Now, I am running into problem with my Display adpter. I change the setting in Safe mode to 16 color, resolution to 640x480 beacuse I was using an older monitor with this new computer, well now I hooked it up with my new monitor(which it was hooked up originally),I can't get more than 16 color, and resolution is only 640x480. I have already tried to download video drivers that didn't work, I went to safe mode again and try to change refresh rate to default, this didn't work, I have no idea why I can't get my colors and resolution back. This is like disaster to me, I can't work with most of my programs. Please help.

Hi,

Sounds like you have your computer totally confused. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I think the best route for you is to boot into safe mode. Go to Device Manager, which is under System in Control Panel. Expand the "display adapters" section by clicking on the + sign. Highlight each reference to video adapters and remove them. You want to end up with no display adapters showing.

Next, do the same thing for your monitor. Under the monitors section, remove all instances of monitors showing.

Then, reboot in normal mode and Windows should find and install the video adapter, monitor and drivers for both. Have your original OS CD handy in case you need it.

After Windows has succesfully installed the drivers for both the video adapter and monitor, you can if you want, update the drivers with whatever latest drivers you have for each.

Post back with your progress.

Cheers,
