Is there a way that I can turn my computer on by the keyboard or mouse? I am disabled and I sometimes have a hard time pushing the power button in.
Thanks
Can you not leave it switched on. And use the energy saving device to shut down the computer when not in use.

This is what I use.
Right click disktop. Click new from pop up menu, click short cut.
in the pop up box type the following
c:\windows\rundll.exe user.exe,exitwindows
Make sure there is a space between EXE USER and no space between the comma and exitwindows parameters.
click next. In the select a name short cut box type the following
Shut Down Windows 98 Now. click finish. Now all you have to do now is click Shut Down Windows 98 Now and it will automatically shut your computer down.
I do not know if this short cut works with WIN95
If you have any problems let me know.

What sort of computer do you have? With the newer (third-party) motherboards, there is often an option (in the BIOS setup) for "keyboard power-on".
Darm's idea is also good. I've read that the electronics will last just as long being continually powered up, as opposed to cycling on and off once or more per day. It's the temperature variation that comes with cycling (not the inrush of start-up current), that causes problems (according to Scott Mueller in "Upgrading and Repairing PC's"). I would expect fans to wear out sooner.
If a person is not ambulatory, I'd worry just a little about the potential fire hazard of a constantly powered up computer. However, the power supply in most modern PC computers actually is on whenever it's plugged in (this provides the +5Vsb (stand by) power).
I'd worry more about a constantly powered-on CRT monitor, but choosing the maximum level of energy saving when in "suspended" mode would minimize the danger, in my opinion.

I have an Abit Ka7-100 motherboard and I'm running Windows Me. My cousin looked in the bios but he didn't see the option to turn it on by the keyboard. He has that option on his computer. He also has an Abit motherboard but I'm not sure what model.
I'll try what Darm suggested and I'll let you all know how it turns out.
Thanks,

Well.....if you have the power on with keyboard function, it will be found in the Power Management section (I think) of the bios. Go here to find out more about it: http://www.abit-usa.com/english/index.htm
