Hi Jon
If you are talking about useing one screen name on two computers at the same time, then Sea's network suggestion might work. If you mean two names at the same time, the AOL does'nt allow one account to be accessed by two names at the same time. Two puters on a network will access one piece of software at the same time, not sure how that works with a logon name and AOL's system. I would be interested in knowing if this is what you do.Good luck

There is a feature in Win 98 SE and Win ME that allows modem (internet) sharing if you are networked. Gotta be networked to do it tho.

OK sea69, enough is enough. Please quit slamming AOL every time it comes up, and turning the topics into AOL slamfests. I don't like AOL much myself, but the people here are looking for answers, not insults concerning their choice of software.
If you have good suggestions for a solution, which you often do, by all means post it. But if you want to dump more derision on AOL, keep those fingers off the keyboard and move on to the next topic.
Sorry, but I've seen enough, it's time to drop the Attitude about AOL and move on. Fix it here, save the sarcastic and derisive comments for yahoo chat and newsgroups. They expect it there.

Hey Pete
hmmmmmm .. sorry if it 'seemed' I was downing aol, (and from previous posts I can see why it could have been taken that way)
I only meant that any dial up connection would be S L O W via lan.. ( he just happened to have aol)
One of the reasons I like this site is cuz it has 'personality' and is well moderated.. so excuse any personality interjected along w/ advice to help, cause that's what I'm used to.. didn't mean to 'flame anything. I can sound like a robot, or not post at all.. whatever.

I personally like the idea of "venting" at venting type sites and "helping" at helping sites....Its my understanding this is a "helping" site

Why Aol should be slow through LAN connection (10 Mb\sec)??
Is there any HARDWARE "solution" (router), which support dial up modems??
Using software, one computer must always be ON ...

You are correct Jon....it wont be that slow as a result of the network...after all the networking can theoretically move the data faster than your dial up connection ever will!.....dont worry about that at all. What can slow you down is processing power, but it's not like you are gonna be trying to do anything exotic here anyway......and you will save money by not having to get two phone lines for simultaneous internet browsing. I'd go for it !!

Actually, to answer your question about computers being "ON"....the computer with the modem will obviously HAVE to be on when the other computer wants to dial up ......... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
