My new Acer Aspire 5935g laptop has a 500gb hard drive. I partitoned the harddrive into 1 285gb partition and 1 168gb partition. It worked fine untill I restarted my computer, after that the new partition was "stolen" and turned into a EISA partition, which means that I just lost 168gb of storage  !!!
I don't know how to "undo" the partitioning so that I have one 500gb partition. Please HELP!!!

EISA partitions are commonly small (usually hidden) partitions used typically by Dell for troubleshooting utilities or for restoration of the operating system.
How big is the EISA partition you can now "see"?
Which Operating System are you using and what did you use to partition the hard drive in the manner described since most partitioning utilities will not allow you to alter the size of the system partition while Windows is still running?
BiNG (in my signature) should be capable of repartitioning your drive but it would be best if we could understand better just what you have done. Perhaps you could post a screenshot of your Disk Managment section.

I am running Vista Home Premium. Well, my harddrive already had 2 hidden EISA partitions for installing Vista and other Factory Defaults.
I wanted to have 2 partitions instead of one huge 500gb. I went to Disk Management and right clicked the C: disk (500gb) and pressed "Shrink Volume.." I partitioned it into a 285gb NTFS partition and a 168gb NTFS partition. After reboot the 168gb one just dissapeard and I found that it had turned into an EISA partition.
wtf? Help please.

A screenshot would be helpful. Enter diskmgmt.msc into the search box above the start button or start Disk Management another way. Then adjust the Disk Mangement Window to show the relevant geometry.
With Disk Management showing properly hit PrintScreen. Then open Paint or other graphics program and then hit CTRL + V to paste the screen output into it. Save the picture as a jpg and then upload that file to somewhere like TinyPic (http://tinypic.com/). Post the url for the uploaded screenshot here.
Perhaps you have a better method of posting a screen shot.
IrfanView is a very useful picture manipulator if you want a simple and userful tool to open pics with and adjust their size, format etc or to cut out areas by cropping.
