Hi,

I am using WIN2000 and have downloaded TweakUI and have had no joy in installing it...........when I hit the tweakui.cpl file it says to me
"TweakUI should be run from the control panel, should I install it now?
Yes....No"

So obvioulsy I click the "Yes" button but the icon never seems to appear in the control panel settings.......has anyone got any idea of why this is happening to me and what I could do about it. I tried various download sites and there all the same. Maybe Paleo Pete has a good idea...I don't know!!

Beno. I just did this two nights ago and the same thing happened to me. I did it a second time and it worked. Tweak ui comes in 4 files. Don't try to install them one at a time. Install the whole folder. Worked for me.

By the way, I used Download Accelerator to handle it. I don't know if that matters.

Hi There Steve,

I can only install 1 file at a time though so I don't know what you mean when you say "Don't install one at a time but instead the whole folder" because I can only install one file and that is the control panel extension file. But I did what you said and its still not working for me so what do you think I can do now???

After you unzip the tweakui files to a temporary folder, right-click the
tweakui.inf file and click "install."

Don't ever "play" with IE or My Computer settings using Tweak UI.
What do you think; why Mi-soft officially doesn't support Tweak UI.
Are you sure about combination win2000 &Tweak UI?

If you really like to use only "paranoia" than I would recommend "Win Washer"-shareware
