Hey, I was wondering what I can upgrade my processor to with the motherboard I have. My motherboard is "ASUSTeK Computer INC. 'P4SD-LA' Rev 1.xx" I know almost nothign about motherboards or processors so this info is all copy and paste from belarc. My current processor is a intel pentium 2.4 dual core. I'd like to upgrade it to whatever is possible. Can I upgrade it from a pentium? Any help would be great, thanks.

Up to 3.2 GHz P4 Northwood...

In other words...not worth it.

Well, does that mean I should upgrade my motherboard? If so, are there motherboards that support agp and pci-e cards? I just recently was given a high end agp card and would rather keep using until its really out dated but I dont want to put out money for a motherboard that I wont be able to upgrade my video card later on with. Any info from price's to names of motherboards I should get would be helpful at this point.

A new motherboard would require new RAM, new processor, new power supply. Almost all, if not, all new mobos today don't have AGP and they use PCIe 2.0 instead. So you would most likely need all those things.

Newegg isn't even carrying many P4 processors any longer and the one they do have is a 3.0 GHz Prescott dor $80...won't work and way too much money for something that old.
