Pidgin Problems

This morning I powered on my computer, and everything was going fine till Pidgin loaded and I got the error "Lost connection with server: Connection interrupted by other software on your computer." for my aim accounts. eventually one worked, but the other two still do not. I don't have any idea what the other software could be on my computer. where do I start?

for those who don't know, Pidgin is a 3rd party instant messaging program, so I use it with AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Facebook, ect

Check to see if there is any updates for Pdgin...many times when that kind of stuff happens the IM servers are blocking particular clients or have changed something and it is as if they were blocking. Pidgin is usually pretty good about keeping up with updates when that happens.

there isn't one for pidgin as of 2 to 3 PM today. I tried reinstalling to see if something got corrupt, but got nowhere. is it possible aim did an update today
