I have a Folder with all of the office information that I want to share on the workgroup. The computer it is shared from is Vista Business. I have the folder in the Public folder. On the other 2 office computers (they run XP) the folder appeares but after looking further into the files, not all of them appear. Also some files that were thought to be saved to the shared folder were later not found. I then tried to not only have it in the Public folder but also shared and same thing. Actually this time when I checked the properties on the shared folder it did have the same amount of GBs but when I went in to look and see if all of the files were there the same ones are missing. I am not sure how to share this folder and make sure that all of the files be available.
Hope this makes sense.

So I took the folder out of Public and placed in the C: drive dirrectly and shared it. I can read access the info on the other computers but when I do a properties check the original folder reads 27.2 GB and the computers accessing the folder through the network have 26.8 GB and about 300 files less then the original folder. Am I really missing information or is this normal and I can work with this set up no problem.

You will need to determine what files are missing and why.

So I took the folder out of Public and placed in the C: drive dirrectly and shared it.Personally I wouldn't have moved a folder but have created a brand new one, say called SharedFiles, in the C: drive and then copy the content of what you want shared into the pristine new folder.
Vista's own "virtual folders" can make things not seem as the actually are.
