Try GParted run from within one of the two recent releases of Puppy 4.3 linked here. (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showpost.php?p=436887&postcount=10)
Kernel 2.6.30.5 is more recent than 2.6.25.16
BinG did some partitioning as well. I believe I extended partitions through that first, but it's been a while since I extended partitions

Was this from within Windows or from floppies? PM from Windows can cause all sorts of problems with the system drive and might have various issues with the new partitioning geometry that started under Vista.
GParted also comes as a standalone but I still think BiNG (http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/bootit-next-generation.htm) is the best all round tool for such manoeuvres and is stated to be compatible with Win7.
I thought BiNG didn't need any OS to run, (one needs to boot to the CD, not run it in any OS environment) why wouldn't it be compatible with Win7?

I already indicated that it is compatible.
