remote file sharing

I recently moved to a neighboring state and have some family & friends i used to do maintenace tasks for (uninstalling n general upkeep) and I went for a visit last week and a few of thier pc's were a mess and I did not have the time to do what I needed to do for them. What i need to know is what is the easiest way of manipulating thier pc from mine (most of us have cable modems and pc's less then a year old).

Look for a free program called "VNC". It works much like PCAnywhere does.(It must be installed on both computers.)I would install it, use it, and then uninstall it. It's default security isn't very good IMHO, but it is a great remote control tool.
