I was having trouble with the computer. I
kept getting, "you are committing an illegal act" warning and then it would
knock me off line. I figured I could get rid of it by cleaning off the hard
drive. I used the "Master Recovery" CD. When it had finished I found that
several programs were missing. They are, "Microsoft Paint" and "Microsoft
Works."

If you dont have the Cd that has MS Works on it.....you are out of luck and will need to purchase some type of word processing program or Works at a computer store. The MS paint can be reinstalled from the "Add Programs" icon in Control Panel under the heading "Windows Setup".....your recovery CD no doubt has that on it ( It should have MS Works on it too if that came with the computer, but you might have to look on the CD in it's folders to find it.

just as Randy has said above, and also you have the option of downloading another (word type) program such as Sun Office. I don't have the link right now but a simple search on google would get it.

I downloaded a version of it for comparison (a long while back). I found it to be 'adequate', but prefer ms-word, it did have a few features that word doesn't. (templates and such)
