I have a 2 year old Canon MP520 that is still working but it's telling me that one color cartridge is low in ink.

Problem:
While I was printing a couple of pages off the internet, via the rear tray, a piece of foam came sailing out with a page.
This piece of foam is about 10 inches long and 1/8 inch wide and 1/32 inch thick. It definately came out of the printer (in case you're laughing) but printer still prints.

Any suggestions? IE: Should I perhaps change printing settings to print from front tray. Or, should I leave it alone and see if it keeps working? I'd hate to take it apart to try and see where that piece of foam came from.

Thanks.

The foam was probably supposed to have been pulled out before installation. If all is working OK then I would say fine. Have a look at or for a namual to see where it might have come from rather than start opening things up.

Thanks Paul!

I didn't find out where the thin strip of foam came from but saw some reference to same problem someone had on internet. And, it mentioned that it was after a paper jam, as was mine. Strange things happen sometimes eh.
However, my printer still works! I did replace the blue ink cartridge tho.
