Thanks in advance for all of your responses!!!!
Well, I just want to know how to create a boot record so that my pc can dual boot. I have two working operating systems on my machine, on separate drives of course. Right now, I have win2000 on drive C and win98 on drive d, but don't know how to create a boot record to have my computer booting from drive d! Once again, thank you much for any hint!!!

I havent done this since my OS2 days, but you need a "Boot Partition or Sector" to do it and you have to set it up prior to installing your os's.
Here is a good starting place: http://www.signalogic.com/tech_support/dualboot.htm

I think this is what you seek:
Adding Win2K Pro to Win98
Creating a dual boot is easy if you start with Win98 already installed-just run Win2K Pro setup and decline the option to upgrade. Also, decline the option to convert the partition to NTFS; Win98 cannot read or write to NTFS partitions. If you inadvertantly convert the root partition (i.e., C drive) to NTFS, Win98 will not be able to boot. You can use NTFS on other partitions, but Win98 will not see them. Win2K Pro setup should proceed as usual, and the system wiill give you the option to boot either Win2K Pro or Win98 on system startup. Adding Win2K Pro to a Win98 system is easy, so it is recommended to install Win98 first when creating a dual-boot system from scratch.

Thanks Randy,
Well, I would like to be able to create a master boot record manually. I basically have two working operating systems, win2k and win98 on two separate drives, c and d respectively but without a master boot record that is dual bootable. If it comes to the worst, then I can always go back and do it the other way (win98 first and win2k after).
Thanks again for the info!
