View Full Version : laptop works with hub but not switch

I tried replacing my old CentreCom 4-port hub with a Linksys 8-port EZXS88W ver. 3.4 switch & my Dell laptop doesn't connect. The switch lights blink once a second & it doesn't see internet or other pc's. I have 2 desktops that work fine with either switch or hub.

The laptop network card is a 3com Megahertz 10/100 LAN Cardbus PC Card

Tried a round cable & it worked.

The switch doesn't like the flat cable that worked with the hub for some reason.
