Hi all! I recently upgraded my old vanila P5B motherboard with the P5Q pro turbo. After getting it in and trying to boot it up for the first time I would get a BSOD screen and then the computer would restart. The OS in this hard drive has Windows 7 64bit. The BSOD would only appear for a split second and restart so I couldn't tell what it was trying to tell me. It will just repeat over and over:mad: I then swapped the hard drive to another with Windows XP 32bit and it starts right up with no problem at all. Again I swapped over to win 7 hard drive and still the problem continues. Anything I should look into? any help is appreciated.:D

Yeah...reinstall W7.

The boards are probably close enough that they would use the same drivers in XP, but in W7 there is a very good chance that they are different enough to cause it to throw a hissy fit.

I went to ASUS tech support and they replied with this:

unfortunately when moving to a new board type normally you must reinstall the operating systems due to the chipset/driver differences. Past that normally the windows will detect the change and make you reactivate and reinstall anyways. As microsioft dictates that any board change is considered a new system.
