hI! YES, I did read the sticky here:

http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?t=39685

my old pc was working fine, I wanted to replace a cd-rom cause the old one was malfunctioning, nothing major, now it won't boot up for some reason. I set everything back the way it was and still nothing.

the pc does turn on, however the display gets no video and I hear no beep. I tried taking out my ram and I heard it beeping to complain so that's good.

Sounds like you knocked something adrift [the video card?] when you were inside the box.

Make sure the video card is properly seated and connecting.
You may need to clean the contacts with an eraser.

The RAM beeps mean the POST is getting as far as the 1st RAM test OK.
I guess that with the RAM back in and functioning, the POST is continuing on to the initialization of the video card, which is then failing without any warning beeps, hence no single short beep, no signal output to the monitor.

You may need to try the card in another PC to see if it functions there...
And/or try a known good video card in your own PC.

Naturally, you must make certain all connections are good.

If the above doesn't produce a fix, fit a new/good CMOS battery, just in case this is being caused by corruption of the BIOS's configuration settings.
