i have this 845GVML mobo. its not from msi but its a chinese make. it has pentium4 2 ghz and 256 mb ddr sd ram.
when i tried to build the system with out connecting the dvd rom and hdd the system started i mean i can go into the bios. i have 2 dvd roms when i connected it to the first rom it started again. when i connected 2 roms and started the system the processor fan just spun and came to a halt. so i disconnected the new rom and just connected the power supply and data cable to the new one and started .it worked fine. i checked the system using single dvd roms the system started . as soon as i connect 2 dvd roms it comes to a halt fan spins and halts. then i tried just the hdd it started but when i used a combination of one hdd and one cd rom fan spun and stopped . 2 roms and one hdd same problem .so it means the system is taking only one device. i changed the power supply infact i tried with 3 different power supplies same problem.
what will be the problem. all my powersupplies are from a working system.

Jumper one drive to "master", other to "slave", or both to "cable select".

Perhaps the PSU doesn't have enough power output to supply all of the hardware. :(

i tried 3 power supplies. all three were working fine in my other system. in fact the first 2 were from intex. when i used these the fan on the processor only spun and halted. then i tried hippro from the ibm machine. here the system boots but only one hdd or cd is accepted. ok let me try another one.
