Hi,
I had to get my PC repair guys to reinstall Windows XP because my old hard drive died, and since then I cannot record onto Audacity using my mike.
Well it does record, but so quiet I have to turn my speakers up full to hear it, and then I get terrible hissing. It's nowhere near the volume it was before.
And someone said I have a sound card problem, because when I tried to record in Windows Sound Recorder I could not record at all either.
I did all the troubleshooting on this page:
http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000208.htm#04
and everything is as it should be according to that page, so why can I still not record properly?
thanks
