hi all! i am trying to fix a laptop for a friend. the issue is that the laptop wont boot from cd it does not have the option. so. i thought to install the os via an exteral encloser. well all goes well right till i get to reboot for the install of windows it just sits at post and gives me an error about the hdd and will not boot (note i do have the ability to boot from usb via the CMOS) however the hdd will boot up if i install it in side the pc the issue with that is i have to use the same ide channel as my cd drive witch means i cannot install windows becouse the cd drive wont operate if the hdd is pluged in on the same channel and my mobo only has 1 ide channel
any one know any way to get windows on this hdd the only thing i can think of is to use a ide to sata adapter but i dont wana spend money on this fix
