This is odd.
3.2GHz dual-core P4, read rate from DVD-ROM drive is 1.8x, about 2.5MB per second, and one of the cores runs at 100% - something is wrong here, as the old system I was using was single-core 2GHz only, and CPU load was less then 10% when ripping at 8x read-speed or more - what is going on?
DVD-ROM drive on IDE bus, storage folder on SATA HDD.
I also have an IDE drive on the same cable as the DVD-ROM, so tried ripping to the IDE drive, but exactly the same result - slow ripping speed and 100% on one of the cores.
What gives?
