Can someone please help me. I have two computers, both with NIC cards and one running Windows Me, and one running Win 98. Can someone tell me how I can map the hard=drives/set them up on a simple network to share files and printers.
Thanks

Windows ME has a networking wizard...go there first, it's in the control panel...set up the workgroup name and computer name...then there will be an option to create a wizard disk for another computer...you'll use that disk in the 98 machine...at least that's how it's supposed to work...
1. are they conected with a crossover cable or a hub?
2. make sure they both have the same workgroup name under identification in the network properties. and both computers have different names
3. Make sure file and print sharing is turned on, also in network properties
4.make sure you have these three protocols for the network card, IPX TCP/IP and NETBEUI
5.right click on your hardrives and go to sharing....set it as you see fit
All mine are read only.
6.Reboot

Thanks for the help. The computers will be networked with a hub. I ordered the computer with ME last week, and should have possession of it in a few days, so I cannot try the "wizard" approach. I guess I will be able to figure out how to change the settings as suggested. If not, any suggestions on how/where to make those changes? Thanks again
