The most appropriate printer

I need advice on what printer would be most appropriate for printing on 100lb Gloss Text stock. The printers I have researched, both inkjet and laser are unable to confirm in their specifications that the paper stock I intend to use would work in their machines. Complicating this, the people who sell them, even the speciality printer retailers are unable to help.
What is essential is that the text be superior either B/W or colour. Speed is not as important, quality of print is.

Whatever it takes to get good quality.
No larger than 8.5 x 11 1nches.
I don't think laser or inkjets can lay a gloss on a page.

I work for a company that manufactures printers that can print on almost anything for the professional printing industry, ie: movie posters, banners, outdoor billboards, high speed commercial printers, etc, some really high end stuff.
Is your desired output more like photo printing or is it more like business printing?

There are certainly colour laser printers that can print to quite heavy gauge paper. One would normally choose the paper to be glossy rather than apply the gloss afterwards though using a separate laminator can give very good glossy and waterproof results.

Paul, some of my color copier/printers can print on semi-gloss stock up to 300g/m2, they use plastic toners which is naturally waterproof and also have glossy modes where the media is actually run through the fuser twice to flatten the printing and give it a gloss.
