If you mean how do you make a music cd, you can either use software that does the conversion from mp3 to cda automatically (adaptec for example) or convert the mp3s to wav format and then burn them onto the cd as wavs which are readable by regular cd players...you should check the documentation that came with your cd burner to see what kind of software you have and what its capabilities are...

Hi
so you want to make a CD from your MP3 downloads, well firstly what writer do you have? secondly what software came with it nero burning rom, adaptec, etc.
If you have adaptec and have installed Easy CD Creator open this program
then click on audio its at the top, then audio CD, then a sort of windows explorer slyle option appears look to the left hand side look for the folder of cd you have your stored downloads when you click on them they appear in the top box, now hightlight the ones you want, and click on add they will now appear in the bottom box now go-to either create an image or create a cd in the file menu. The image option is the best for my writer, its trial and error from here, until you get the best setup that suits your writer give me a bit more on on your writer and software and I will help again thanks for listening

Thanks for the feedback, hiredgoonz and markblack, I appreciated it. I don't know much about these things regarding the making CD from MP3 downloads, sorry if I have to ask u guys some stupid questions. Do I need CDRW(CD burner) in order to make a CD? I have a CD-Rom, but not a CD burner. Yes, I am trying to make a music CD for those MP3 I downloaded from the internet, so those MP3 file won't take up my hard drive's space.
It will be great if the MP3 CD could be converted to a format which could be played by any regular CD players or mini-systems other than my computer. I've heard there is a software out there could do that, right?
Thanks
Joe

Of cource you do need a CD-RW(cd burner) to write files from your PC. As "hiredgoonz" and "markblack" have mentioned, buy a CD-RW which comes with Adaptec software and it will be easier for you to make music cd's from mp3's.

Hi princejoe at present there isn't an MP3 player avaiable for home use that I know of.Because all CD players can only play wave file formats
You can get an MP3 player but these "are carry around equipment" so the home useage bit is out.MP3 files are compressed files they are compressed to about a 10th of the orignial size for transferring across the net for example a 4 meg song (MP3) when its decompressed its about 40 meg.if you to try and download a file this big you would be there all-day. if we were to transfer this to CD you would only be able to get approx 13 songs or so on a CD.I have had to think this question out "It will be great if the MP3 CD could be converted to a format which could be played by any regular CD players or mini-systems other than my computer. I've heard there is a software out there could do that, right?" and the only thing I can think of is there is software that converts MP3s to WAV, via the computer and CD writer if this is what you mean, but theres no way a household cdrom can convert MP3 files to WAV files household CDroms can't read MP3 files you would just get the message saying no disc inserted.

There are combo DVD,CD,and MP3 players on the market now. About $150 at Circut City.

From what I've read, TDKs are repackaged Plextors and they are up to 16x10x40x.

Good Luck!

Whatever cdrw you go with, you might as well get one that has BURN-proof (it will say so on the box)...Iomega makes a 12x10x32x and like hacker said, TDK just came out with a 16x10x40x (which I think has BURN-proof)

All depends on how much you want to spend, but figure around $300 for whatever the FASTEST drive is at the time...the Iomega actually was onsale after rebate for $99 at compusa a couple months ago...and you can get a really nice drive for around $200

And if you're looking for a home mp3 player, just get an adapter from your sound card line out to the back of your stereo amplifier and you can play your mp3s through your stereo just like your computer was a tapedeck or whatever...

If you don't want to do that, again, hacker hit the nail on the head, Apex dvd players, for example, play mp3s that are burnt to cdr, I got mine at circuit city for $130...

hi, hacker and hiredgoonz, thanks for the information. I know the fastest
cdrw is the 16x10x32x which just came out, but I know it will cost atleast $300 to get it, I don't really think it's a good idea to spend that kind of money on a cd burner. I was thinking of getting 12x10x32x from either the plextor or TDK, their prices should go down a bit since the newest one has been released. Do u know which one has the better software? I've heard Nero is the pretty good. I think they also burn proof, right? I know I missed the Iomega drive, it's good deal.... but it's a good drive tho? I am planning to spend about $150 to $200 for the drive.
About the adapter things, I don't quite understand, how do I do that? they sell adapter for this kind of purpose? I am using a monster sound MX300, I am not sure if diamond will have it. Regarding the Apex dvd players, does it play all three dvd, vcd and MP3 CD without a problem?
how about Dvd and VCD made from CD burner, does it play those too? If yes, it seems like a good deal for it's price and features. hiredgoonz, since u bought it already, what do think of it, is Apex a good brand?
Thanks

The iomega drive is a remarked plextor, and I haven't had any trouble with mine...Adaptec is good software, although the version that comes with a burner isn't the deluxe version...if you're a real expert, there are some things adaptec may not do that you might want...although I haven't found ANY software package that does EVERYTHING, adaptec covers 99% of what almost anyone will need...

My apex player has worked fine...I've had trouble with one dvd a few times, toy story, other than that it plays flawlessly, so I think the dvd disk might be messed up...as far as I know, it will play vcds, but I haven't tried yet...I've heard good and bad things about the apex player(and any other electronics device)...I think serious video phile snobs probably would look down at it, but it plays as well as any other player I've seen...

The adapter I'm talking about can be found at radioshack...you probably need a stereo miniplug to phono plugs adapter, just look at the output of your sound card and the input of your stereo...

The TDK 16x10x40x is on sale this week at the BestBuys around me for $250.
The TDK 12x8x32 selling for $250 with a $50 mail in rebate at the same place.

And they both have "Burn-Proof".

I've got the Apex combo player also and, according to the instructions, it does all your asking about, and as hiredgoonz said, it plays as good as anything I've seen.

Good Luck!

Pardon me for budding in, but what does BURN-proof mean for CDRW drives? I own a burner and have burned many cds, but I've never heard of that.
