My wife surprised me with a newer system for me to build. I just started diving into it and noticed that the Motherboard I/O ports only line up to the motherboard WITHOUT offsets installed. So I need to find out if this motherboard will work with this case. Thank you very much in advance!
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA785G-UD3H
Case: RaidMax Hurricane ATX #ATX-248WB-RT

The Case should have come with a bag of screws and standoffs that are to be used to mount the motherboard in the case. Do not mount the motherboard without standoffs because the soldered leads on the under side of the motherboard will come in contact with the metal motherboard tray causing short circuit when power is applied and it will ruin the board.
Your motherboard only needs 7 of the standoffs installed on the tray, and only in the locations that match the 7 mounting holes in your motherboard.
Do not install extra standoffs they can cause shorts, and also not let the I/O ports line up with the I/O shield.
If your case came with an I/O shield installed remove it and install the one that came with your motherboard The chance that it will match the ports on your motherboard is about 0%
The motherboard should have come with an I/O shield that is supposed to be installed in the rectangular cutout in the back of the case. The I/O shield must be installed from the inside of the case before the motherboard is installed.

If you have the standoffs in the proper locations and the I/O shield that came with the motherboard properly installed in the case and the I/O ports still don't line up with the I/O shield. Remove the I/O shield and contact Gigabyte you may have received the wrong one for your board.

Thank you for the detailed reply. That is exactly what I did and exactly what I thought. What is confusing me is that WITHOUT the stand-offs install, but with the MotherBoard I/O plate installed, the motherboard and ports line up perfectly. But if I install the stand-offs about 1/3 of my I/O ports are blocked. Now these blocked ports are not blocked by the provided I/O plate that I installed but by the actual case frame. I peeked a look at the receipt and the Hurricane Case is listed as an ATX case. So I don't know if this is a unique situation specific to this case/motherboard combination or if anyone else has run across this.
Now, look at the motherboard mounting tray...does it have raised 'bumps' already?
