Windows 7 or vista..?

I am planning to buy new laptop.But confused little which system to buy.So please share your experience so i can get some ideas.which one is better..?

A few details about the laptops themselves, not which operating system the are running would be more helpful in the long run.

But, in general, Win 7 is 'better' than Vista, but it has some specific needs (hardware) that need to be met for it to be 'good'.

Windows 7 is beautiful. Vista can also be nice, but it takes more effort to set up then it's probably not worth it. Aren't they still doing the upgrade to windows 7 thing?
