Did you make the partition active during your f/disk session? If Win 95a you cannot use FAT32 (large disk support). You may try using a Win 98 boot disk or you can download a decent one from www.bootdisk.com (http://www.bootdisk.com) What about the BIOS settings, is your hard drive correctly found and identified? Make sure to make the HD bootable when formatting by adding the /s switch. That's all I can think of right now.
ps-Welcome to the family...PC Guide...don't forget to check out the Guide itself as there is a mountain of info regarding this topic and many others. You can get there from the home page www.pcguide.com (http://www.pcguide.com) http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Bassvax, Thanks for the link to bootdisk. I went there and it's a great site.

Actually, credit has to go to one of the other gang here...I want to say Reid, but not positive...gotta spread the wealth. Did you catch that other post about the search site for those windows error messages (like invalid page faults & such)? It's in the Operating System area...I've already put it to good use.

Thanks for the response, The bootdisk link is great, bookmarked
for later reference. I got the old 486 up and running, The
problem was with either the FDD or the signal cable dang
floppy was showing up as B drive could not make it show up
as A drive even after changes in BIOS when I made changes the
sys reported A drive not present.Anyway I made the exchange
and was able to setup dos 6.22 and win-95 from FDD. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
