I have an epson 777,problem is that i cant get it to work with the port, only usb,took my tower to the shop and they said "windows problem" does anyone have any ideas??

There is a setting in the BIOS to enable the ports with a choice of differing technologies. One of the other gang posted about it a while back. ECP, SPP or EPP. Not sure of the diff. Here's a little info: http://www.completeclinic.com/sn_paraport.html
They say Windows problem have you checked the Device Manager for conflicts? Maybe you could remove the port from the DM in safe mode and then have Windows redetect and install it on reboot. There is a little blurb in here about using the status monitor with a particular version of the 95/98/Me driver.
