Hi Everyone,
I have a most annoying problem with the clock that is displayed in the bottom corner of my pc,it shows the correct time for a few days then goes goes way off track and shows way out times, i've checked the clock in the bios and that appears to be ok,the correct time on my desktop only stays correct for approx 4 days, this has recently started after i upgraded my system any ideas?

thanks

Alan

First check your time zone settings, by double clicking on the clock in your task tray.

The CMOS battery might be going bad too, might not be a bad idea to get a new one.

You said that you recently "upgraded" your system.....Did you change out the motherboard? Was it a NEW motherboard?? If it was a used motherboard, I bet the cmos battery (round silver thing size of a quarter on the motherboard) is dying......EVEN if it's a NEW motherboard I've seen them have dying or dead batteries. The only other way( I know of) you would be losing time is if the "Real Time Clock" on the motherboard was defective.

You stated that you recently upgraded. Do you have Norton antivirus?
If so, go to the Symantics website and download a patch that corrects the slow clock problem.
