Wake up PC

Hi Guys i am new here, so bare with me please.
I have had a quick search through the forums but cant find my exact problem.

How the heck do i wake my pc up. I have left it on when gone shopping and when i come back its asleep. I have tried hitting enter and several other keys but no its stays asleep, well at least the moinitor does anhyway :confused:
to use the pc i always have to force it to shut down by keeping my finger on the ""switch on "" button.

Any tips please thanks

Is this a desktop/tower PC?
I would start with a new battery for the BIOS.

yes it is a tower desktop. Its only 3 weeks old so hopefully its not a battery ????
it is windows7 though :rolleyes: :eek:

Check your settings for Advanced Power Management or whatever it is called in Win7. It may be going into Hibernation instead of Standby.
