Is there such a thing as a RJ45 to BNC adapter for a network card? Fancy new laptops with the RJ45 network connector cannot join the rather antique but perfectly functional coax network at work.

Way to go, sleddog http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif . Just yesterday, I was looking at my bookshelf and thinking "I've never once used that 1996 Network Buyer's Guide (bought at closeout for five bucks); maybe I should toss it." Now it seems I should keep it; I found this D-Link product listed under "Transceivers": DE-855 (http://www.us.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10010967).

Just the thing, thanks, but the price is steep -- especially since I'm dealing with 3 laptops. I think I could get cheap pc cards for much less.
