Battery/Power Icon Playing Tricks?

I use vista and my laptop shutsdown even when my battery is still above 20 percent. But here's the catch...When I restart it, the battery percentage is already below 20 percent. Like around 10 or 7 percent. Is this the icon playing tricks on me or what?

No, no tricks. The battery is getting a good drain during boot up. It takes a lot of power to boot up. Also it takes some extra power when the system goes into standby or hibernation.

If you don't like exactly how it is acting you can go into the power settings and customize at what point it turns off and such.
