I've been looking around at 21" monitors to go with my friends gaming machine. Is is possible to get refresh frequencies above 72Hz on these huge monitors? It seems to me that that the bigger the Viseo card capacity, the better the chances of getting the fsater refresh rates. The main use of this machine will be for flight simulators which, from what I understand, are very power hungry. All aspects of the sytem will be worked to death. RAM, HD, Mass quantities of FPU and the video card. Seems to me, however, that the bottleneck is in the video cards.

Although most store bought systems are designed for 17" monitors, most of the stats that I've read don't look very good for the resolution on a 21" monitor.

Anything I'm not seeing here?

Respectfully,

Your right about the video card being the bottleneck. Some top of the line 21 inch monitors can support 80Hz at their highest resolutions, but the video card must also be able to support it. You'll need to check the specs for both the monitor and the video card your interested in.
