Folder options and File types?????

Hey every1,

this one is really geeing me up here so please help!! if you can please.

I have Win98 and when I go start>settings>folder options

I have changed my file types .jpg and .jpeg to open with internet explorer instead of MS Photo Editor.......I have changed them there but it keeps opening up this program with the .jpg and .jpeg file types.

Why doesn't it like Internet Explorer????

Also when I go to save something for the first time it immediately goes to my "My Documents" folder......I want to point the direction somewhere else so I right clikced on that folder hoping to change an option but it just didn't happen!! Does anyone know how to fix this problem??

I would really appreciate any feedback from you ok!!

Well the first one I dont know the "why" but I know a work-around. Open Internet Explorer FIRST and go to file/open/browse....that will let you choose the .jpeg,.jpg file and hopefully open it. The way to "Direct" a document to where you want to is to use "Save As" rather than save...and it will then ask you WHERE you want to save the document. It might be helpful to also go to the Help section of Win98 to learn even more about it.

The 'My Documents' folder is a special one that windows ALWAYS defaults to. I had the same annoyance, But then decided to use it to advantage. Now I have Everything in 'My Documents' ie. like a root directory. All my other folders are in there so I can quickly click on the folder that I want, or just leave the new doc. loose in the folder & tidy up later.
Try it, after you've used it a bit I think you may like it.
