When the new pc gets here is there an easy way to transfer the contents from my old hd to the new one?(I have no access to a tape or zip drive). Also this time I plan to be a little smarter and install a uninstall program, can anyone recommend their favorite, and why? Thanks, Dave

When you say "contents", I assume you mean data, since it sounds like you're getting a pre-assembled and configured system. There are a few ways to do what you want.
Sneaker net -- Copy files on old PC to diskette(s) and "walk them over" to the new one.
Upload and Download -- Using xDrive (available for download at CNet), you can upload the files from the old to a "virtual" hard drive on the net, then dial in with the new and download them.
Direct Cable Connection -- Connect both PC's at their parallel ports and run DCC (included in Windows98 with a good explanation in the Help section). This assumes the old system is still running. I would only advise taking this path if both system are running the same OS version.
Relocate old hard drive -- This will be the most complicated, because you will have to open both cases, remove the old drive and possibly change a jumper, and install and setup the old drive in the new machine. After all that, it gets easier. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Just drag-and-drop with Explorer. The drawback is that you have to reverse all this to get your old system running again. If you're not going to keep the old system operational, the benefit is that you have a lot of storage space in the new box.
Let us know what you decide, or if you need more help.
P.S. As for the uninstall, I'll leave that to others, but in general be careful. Even Norton has removed CleanSweep from the Utilities because of problems. I have heard good things about something called "Go Back", but don't use it myself.

You MIGHT get the seller to do it for you (unless of course you bought a Proprietary box).....As far as "Uninstaller"...I think the uninstall feature in Win98 SE works pretty well, coupled with the uninstall features that usually come with the software itself.
