Hi. First of all, let me tell you what I am trying to do. I have a 13 gig hd that came partitioned from the manufacturer that I want to totally format. I want to start over completely. I am using Windows 98SE, and for some reason it refuses to create a boot disk for me. I have a formatted disk in the drive, click on startup disk, and it asks for the Windows cd. I put in the cd, and it pops up with an error saying it cant find command.com, or anything else. I have no idea what to do here.
My other question is, how can I remove the partition on my hd without having to buy PartitionMagic or something. I am a po' student, so any shareware or freeware programs that you know of, or some way to do it through DOS, would be helpful. Thanks.

Go here: www.bootdisk.com (http://www.bootdisk.com) and download a windows 98 boot disk.

You can then use Fdisk to repartition your drive ( it will ask if you want to "enable large disk support" choose "yes".)
After your partitions are set you can format them. Of course any data stored on those partitions will be lost.

Use Partition Magic if you want to resize a partition without losing data.

Hope this helps http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
