Help on which windows 7 to buy

Kind of a stupid question, but which windows 7 do I need to buy. It's for a new system with out any OS.

Depends on what you want to do. Home premium is good for most users.

Pro and Ultimate gives you the option of a "XP MODE". This can be used if you have really old stuff that will not work with Win 7. It's a free OS download from MS. Some....and just some old...games work better with xp than win7. Ultimate gives you bitlocker for you laptop security.
