If you could give us some more info it would sure help for someone answering. What kind of PC, What Operating System, did you just install this HD or did this just start happening on your current one, did you recently make any changes? You could start by making sure all your cables are tight. Make sure that there isn't any IRQ conflicts with other devices. Try Right clicking My Computer,Properties,Device Manager, then click on CD-ROM and see if you see a yellow exclamation point.
