Hey all I have a dual desktop configuration and since installing the new TV (so it seems anyways - didnt notice problem on old 32" LCD) All the HD mkv files I play are very choppy.. smaller dvd rips seem fine.
I disabled all the graphic intensive windows 7 theme and disabled vlc error loopback checking. My question is for the specs listed below is this normal or is there an issue with my system.. all input appreciated.
Thanks!

Sorry, but the site mods have been really busy. This site was being inundated by sig spammers (up to 50 banned per day). We have a fix as of today that seems to have helped, so I can bump the thread now.

Hey all I found a fix I ditched VLC player and installed CoreAVC 2.0 Pro w/Windows Media Player, it seems to be taking advantage of the 64 bit OS and Nvidia Hardware Decoding their is no drop in playback even when multitasking such an improvement over VLC.
Its a shame I was a fan of VLC but for .mkv 1080p playback I will be using WMP w/ Core AVC decoding
I assumed before VLC was the best for the job but it seems to be lacking in performance aspects, hell who knows if it was even taking advantage of my dual core or any hardware decoding available on my video card
