I have had my rig for about a year. After a year had passed (and the warranty on mobo expired) I started having a disk read error problem randomly when I would boot the machine. Assuming this was obviously a HD problem considering my MB was only a year old I replaced the HD with a brand new seagate 1TB. The problem continues. The strange part is.. When I move the HD to another SATA port the machine boots normally. Then it will randomly do the same thing again. I am stumped as to what might be causing this and I am ready to replace the mobo now. Is there some other solution that i am missing?
Yeah...try a different set/type of SATA cable. SATA cables are notorious for flaky operation, especially if they loosen up...which they tend to do over time, especially with temperature changes from power cycling the machine.

I had a similar problem. Try replacing the SATA cable first.
Uh... MJC beat me to it.

Awesome, Thanks for the reply guys. Its funny but that is the last thing I thought might be wrong with it lol. I will go ahead and give a new cable a shot before I drop the cash on a new MB.
