I purchased a new pc game called "Severance". Before I bought it I was told
that I need to have at least 60mb of ram to play the game w/ no hiccups.
Well I have 256 of ram on my computer running windows 98se, PentiumIII at 450mhz, but I'm still having problems w/ this game and 3 more other games that I have. I've heard about allocating memory to applications like games is possible. Would this solve my problem? If it does, how do I do it?
Thanx in advance !!!

Problems with games (with as much RAM as you have) are more likely to be the result of inadequate VIDEO card or incorrect Direct X drivers than memory. Check the REquirements of all the games to see if your video card supports them.

If the motherboard you are using happens to have an onboard video (graphics controller) then it dynamically allocates video memeory upto its maximum allowed (for an Intel i810 that is 11 MB). That is the upper limit of what video memory you can get without an add in graphics card.
