On my Acer notebook there is some inherent issue that when CRC errors are detected the IDE driver switches from DMA 5 to PIO. :(
I understand that CRC error checking is good and that new bytes are sent when bad ones are found, so How can I let that continue without the PC reverting to the PIO mode?
The hardware is in good health, scan disk and defrag were performed.
I am not sure of the cause but suspect either poor quality components were used or over heating may contribute to my issue. I don't use the Dvd drive that has caused others to have this.
