ok ive looked at multiple forums and i can only find info about heating i just wanted some personal responses on my particular computer.
it shuts off randomly but mainly when i run hardcore games such as left for dead 2 or mass effect 2
here are my specks:
EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Superclocked Edition 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported
EVGA NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
Antec TruePower Quattro TPQ-1000 1000W Continuous Power ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified
when i built it there were no problems everthing ran fine...
what do you guys think:
should i pull it apart and clean it or is there just something im missing
most similiar problems are thought to be caused by a cpu overheating problem
any help is appreciated
thanks for your time

You should try and check in bios what your cpu temp is. I had a cpu burn out on me
I have similar problems. Whenever i open my computer case and check something or look or even clean. it wont turn on for a couple hours. It boots up then starts to load windows then shuts off completely. I've tried keeping case open and closing it.

i tried that too and i cleaned last night and it does the same thing so the the cpu probrably burned out....
also i open the case and listen and there is a faint ticking sound coming from the cpu
could that be relevant or not bc when i first got it that wasnt there...
what could cause the cpu to burnout by curiosity???

Most computers are designed to back off, that is slow down, if they are experiencing overheating.
If our resident PC gaming expert Saphalline happens by, perhaps he can point you in the right direction. I would suspect that your video card might be getting overly taxed during these games and overheating.
Are you able to boot up and operate normally except when playing these games now??

did you get the new nvidia drivers out last week? Sounds like a driver problem. Try reinstalling the drivers after you delete the old ones......
