Subject: help
I am currently running IE 5.5 with WinMe the OS.
I am suddenly unable to print anything off the net.
I can print test pages or from other programs on my system -
as From Microsoft Word, Netscape and other - so I dont think the
printer itself is the problem.
I have restored all internet settings to default,but to no avail.
The error reads "an error has occured in the script on this page".
Line 220 ;
char 1 ;
error unspecified ;
code 0.
The following line appears in the window :
res://C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL/preview.dlg .
The "tech" line had no clue.
PLEASE HELP!!
Thanks,
Josh Ayalon

IE 5.5 has had a few problems, but this is a new one to me. Try going into the IE 5.5 settings (security) and disabling "active scripting". Post back what happens.

I'm putting a new Fat32 partition in my Head Drive...hope it speeds me up.......
Is this error on any page or oine in particular?
Have you tried clearing the cache?
IE -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Temp Internet Files -> Delete.
A couple of other suggestions:
1. Try and see if your printer is actually selsected in IE, go to the file menu and hit print there. It should bring up the printer setup dialog, the first line should be a drop down menu of the printers on your system (some of them may not be real printers but programs that provide print functions like fax software). Make sure your physical printer is the one selected.
2. Run the IE repair tool. Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs scrool down and find MS IE5.5 and internet tools, click the add/remove button, select option 2 repaor IE. This will fix any missing or corrupted IE files, you need an active connection at the time you run it unless you have IE 5.5 on cd. (just make the connection don't launch IE it'll do what it needs to do)

I found this fix on a bulletin board. Backup your Registry before trying it:
1. Open the Printers folder and copy the EXACT name of the default printer.
2. Open regedit from the run box and go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\PageSetup
3. Doubleclick printer and enter the name of your Default Printer.
4. Close regedit and try to print from IE
