Hi all
Checking my system I came across an error in system properties saying I need a Wave device for voice modem.
I have checked the install disk of my modem (US Robotics 56k V.90 Voice internal modem)and also win98 and win ME discs to see if I can find the correct driver. NO LUCK
I tried all the download sites I know including CNET windrivers etc. NO LUCK.
Can anyone here point me in the direction of the correct driver for this modem.Or can you tell me if I need this driver as everything is working OK, and you know what they say: If it 'aint broke don't fix it.

I thank you in anticipation.

WinDrivers (http://www.windrivers.com) is the first place I look for drivers, if they don't have it chances are you won't find it.

The Wave Device is installed along with the modem drivers. You may be able to remove the modem in Safe Mode and reboot, if it's a hardware modem Windows should find it and reinstall, and should install the Wave Device too.

I've seen this one many times when installing Win98. You might want to go to Control Panel/System/Device Manager and see if you have the "Wave Device" showing up with a "!"(in the Sound,Video & game controller sect) or in the "?" section...If either condition exists, REMOVE the device and let win98 find it again. I think win98 SE CD has the generic wave device on it's cd and will install it. I don't have a clue what the darn thing does though.
