Total War: Shogun Video Issues

I recently tried installing Shogun on my new PC. After installation, when I try to run the game, I see a blank screen while the sound of the intro plays. I looked through the documentation and found that the game only supports ATi and NVidia chipsets. My new machine has a built in Intel. I tried checking out the EA site as well as the Total War site, but I can't find a patch to resolve this. Apparently the last patch issued was in 2003.

Is there any software solution or do I need to buy a new video card?
