Hi all.
I'm trying to find a fish/aquarium screensaver.
I had one once before, but cannot remember the name of it, to go get it again.
Could anyone post the names/links of any fish screensavers they know of, and that would probably jog my memory.
Thanks. :)

GOOD IDEA!!! :)
I will get out an old Win98 box and copy the file.
This is not the one I was trying to think of, but that would probably do.

Wait, it will not work without the right DLLs. I have them packaged for you. Copy them to your Systtem32 folder :D

Is "Underwater" XP compatible? After it runs for about 30-60 minutes, I get runtime errors, 0x00000017 errors, and C++ library errors and the whole machine locks up. This does not happen with any other SS - perhaps Underwater is just too old? However, if it runs at all, I thought it would be fine - wierd, huh?
EDIT: I see others have posted other ones - thanks very much, I will try these out now too. :)

Hm, that never happened to me on Vista 64 bit.

Perhaps it was a glitch. I have rebooted and the screensaver has run for more then an hour with no problems. I note that an application (Sunbelt personal firewall) was trying to update when I saw the messages. I have disabled it for tonight while I run an overnight test. I will leave Underwater running all night and see if it is still running in the morning, then post back here. :) Night night, all.

UPDATE: Must have been a glitch - ran it overnight for about 12 hours, and the wee fish were still swimming around this morning just fine.

Heheh. Love those classic screensavers. I think I gave you all of the 98 screensavers, right?

It's James Mason, the actor who plays Phillip Vandamm from North by Northwest.

;0) Anyway . . . the one I once had and was free back then was the one with the starfish that moved about and the Lionfish. Now days you have to pay for it.
:0( I don't think it was the Sim aquarium--or was it?

Careful guys, some of those scripts back then had nasties aboard!
I have one that's about 1000 frames of the same pic. But it's SUCH a solid, but nice, blue color... :D
Maybe you could find an active webcam somewhere and let your pc default to that instead of hibernation or such? There's Eagle-cams, Bear-cams, (northern) Pike-cams and loads more. You could watch traffic even, that is, if you're into cars or accidents...
__________
I like to make my own folders of pics and direct Windows to use them such as the Hubble Space telescope pics and other similar things and use them when I want a pleasing background.
I used to breed Tropical fish so I don't care to watch them on my screen as I'd rather look at the real-time activity through the glass.
And then notice it needs c-l-e-a-n-i-n-g-!

I don't suppose you know which ones had the nasties in them?
They were MS dll's etc, so I would have thought they would be clean - or are you saying they can leave a backdoor open for nefarious persons?
How do you setup a connection to a webcam as a screensaver?
Sounds interesting...

The infections happened back around when XP was just a youngun'. I'm fairly sure any of those buggers would be defunct by now. A download of an MS file is not always as simple, especially if one was to make the wrong decision and use a torrent or file sharing download site to acquire a Sourceforge file.........

These are from Windows 95 and 98, years before XP.
