hi
try MusicMatch (http://www.musicmatch.com/home/).. very nice http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
additionally, as you didn't mention that you already have an app, such as Adaptec, or Easy Burn, this will download. play, and record )burn) your mp3's to CD.

Google (http://www.google.com) should turn up some useful sites, Napster is probably not a great idea with all the hoopla in the press the past year or so, and maybe some of the folks here will have some good suggestions about formats to use etc.
But please, no instructions for finding free downloads, the music business and their copyright issues are still a hot topic, I don't think we should be advising folks on how to bypass their attempts at keeping people from downloading songs, whether I agree with their stance or not.
I realize people will still try to find ways to get music off the Internet, and I realize it's the same thing people have done with cassettes for over 30 years, and I also realize it's the music companies that reap in the profits, not the recording artist, but it's basically the same as copyright issues with software. And you know how I look at that one...a copyright is still a copyright, whether millions of people do it or not...

try www.audiogalaxy.com (http://www.audiogalaxy.com) it's kind of like napster. I use it because I purchased all of Metallica's cds and each one screws up while playing now.

ummmmmmm by the way.. Napster (original not clones)- still works- as of one minute ago.. just like it always has.
I still have Napster v2.0 BETA 7, I do not know if the newer beta versions are having problems.
