Ok so...
First i was noticing my Windows updates were failing and i was getting an error 80070424. whilst trying to fix it i did some stuff in command prompt (following aid on another forum) and did some net stop/net start stuff. Now, not sure if this was related to my fiddling, but when i am trying to start some programs i get an error saying:
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side coifguration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.
I read that installing Visual C++ update off the microsoft site is a possible fix to it, but when trying to install it i get:
Error1935.An error occured during the installation assembly 'Microsoft.VC90.ATL,version="9.0.21022.8",publickeytoken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b" processorArchitecture="x86",type="win32"'. Please refer to help and support for more information. HResult:0x0070424
Which has also occured while trying to install other programs such as quicktime.
any help would be much appreciated,
Thanks
