The floppy is a bootable disk with a diagnostics program called PC-CHECK by Eurosoft. I want to transfer it to CD so I copied the files on to a CD, changed the boot setting to CD but it did not boot from that. Any ideas on how I can do this?

Yes, but it isn't quite as simple as just copying the files over...

What burning software are you using to make the CD?

Most have an option to create a bootable CD. You need to make sure that option is enabled before burning, at the very least.

I used Roxio Burner 1.0.91.0. It seems a bit basic and I don't see that option to create a bootable CD.

See how: here at Paul Komski's webpage on the topic on "DIY Bootable CDs". (http://paulski.com/zpages.php?id=1814)

Thanks for that. It's not as easy as I first thought! Just noticed that one of those first links - the mkisofs utility "from cdrtools-latest" does not work.
