windows 7 printing problem

When I try to print I get this message: Windows cannot connect to the printer. The local print spooler service is not running. Please restart the spooler or restart the machine. Have checked that the dependencies have started and are on automatic. Have also used troubleshooter to start spooler, but still have the problem.

Did you check to make sure your printer is compatible with windows 7? Check for the latest windows 7 drivers for the printer?

uninstall the drivers/ restart the PC/ reinstall the driver's from the manufacturer's site/ don't plug the printer (USB) in till you are asked too......try this first
